By the end of film, my assumptions and beliefs proved right and I am so much excited to see the film coming to theatres on April 12, 2019. When people around us are so much spellbound over the nativities of village and neighboring states, ‘Slums’ are indeed the native element of Chennai city,” says choreographed-turned-filmmaker Baba Bhaskar.

While the theatrical trailer of Kuppathu Raja has created a decorous impact spanning boastful views on YouTube, it is evident that the film has a unique plot. Moreover, relating the title ‘Kuppathu Raja’ with the incidents in trailer, it has given a prospectus view that it’s all about the clash between two characters, who wants to be the ‘King’. So is Parthiban playing the negative role and GV Prakash takes on a combat with him? “Too many questions and answering either one of them would be a spoiler,” jokingly says Baba Bhaskar. Elaborating this context, he clarifies, “There is an in-depth story than what we have seen in trailer. Yes, the film owns a package of entertainment along with this premise. If you’re keenly looking out to know about hero and villain, the audience will have to find it out with the movie as it involves some dramatic moments.”

“While taking up this offer, I had mixed feel of being excited and quite nervous too. Since, the film is set against the local backdrops; I had to be at least closer to the perfection of delivering dialogues in unique slang of Tamil. Thanks to director Baba Bhaskar sir, GV Prakash and others. They were quite patient and helpful over enhancing the verbal quotients,” says Palak Lalwani.

Ask her about her role in the film and she says, “As I mentioned, the story happens across slum region in Chennai and I play one such girl in those neighborhood.” As the trailers and other visual promos signify, it looks like the major conflict in the film is about serious issues. So, how well is her character shaped up in the movie? “When Baba Bhaskar sir narrated me the script, I was really excited with the script and the commercial ingredients with a commendable theme interwoven together. If you’re looking out for my character, I would say that it has been nicely written and it is not something that we call ‘Blink and Miss’. I have a substantive role in Kuppathu Raja and am keeping my fingers crossed that audiences will appreciate my performance.”

Baba Bhaskar said, “Dhanush sir was the reason behind my embarkation as a choreographer and I would credit all thanks to GV Prakash for being the pillar behind my dreams as filmmaker. When I narrated him the script, he was completely impressed and requested me to make it as promised with him in lead role. MS Bhaskar sir is someone I call Machan as we became so close on the third day of script narration itself. Parthiepan sir has done a great job in the film. Yogi Babu hasn’t merely appeared as comedian, but has done a strong role.”

GV Prakash said, “Baba Bhaskar has made a film based on what he has seen and experienced as a person in his life. Although the trailer might give an impression of a commercial movie, there is an in-depth story. I was in amazement when I saw Parthiepan sir as King in Aayirathil Oruvan and to work with him as actor. We spent more quality time together and had lots of night shoots. Working with Bala sir and Rajeev Menon sir projected me in different and unique shades. In same aspect, Baba Bhaskar has showcased me in a phenomenal role.”

“As an artiste, I have spent a decade experimenting with voguish and commercial roles. Now, I believe that i have much more clarity in choosing roles that elevate me as an actor. I enjoy belonging to different characters, as this has become my greatest motivation to as an actor. With such a decision made, following my movies ‘Adho Andha Paravai poley’ and ‘Aadai’ the premise and narration on CADAVER strongly impressed me where it involved lot of fresh and new things that I hadn’t heard or witnessed before. I will be playing the role of a forensic pathologist in this film and it demanded for me one tough preparation as it wasn’t something off routine investigators we’ve seen in movies. It earnestly required preparing with lots of knowledge about it. The film is based on the book ‘Oru Police Surgeonate Ormakurippukal, which is authored by Kerala’s most celebrated forensic surgeon, Dr. Umadathan. Apart from reading his book that gave me lots of inspirations and preparations, I happened to spend couple of days travelling with a forensic surgeon to know more insight upon this profession.”

On speaking about turning into a co producer for this film Amala says, “This is a film that cannot be shot at a shoestring budget for it involves lots of factors. I felt it is my priority to support this film behind just an artiste. I wanted to support my producers Pradeep kumar and Ajay Panicker who were as passionate as iam about the script and the film. Having endeavored from intense thrillers, Romance in period backdrops and comedy capers, he is all set to unleash his potentials into new terrain through ‘Watchman’.

With the trailer and promo song conquering the family audiences overnight, it gradually leaves anyone to guess on what actually inspired him to make a film of this sort. In contrast, director surprises us saying, “To be precise, I have been attempting to make films based on different genres from the very beginning of my career. I had an impulsive thought of making a thriller with a dog playing main lead role alongside a well known hero. So, it all paved way for the origin of ‘Watchman’.”

On relating the film’s title and its relevance to the film’s theme, he says, “By now, I am sure audiences would have known it by themselves. It’s a thriller film that is set against the time of 2 days and the dramatic play is about the characters bouncing upon each other.”

While speaking about the reason behind casting GV Prakash in lead role, Vijay adds, “GV Prakash and I have been through a long journey of association. We have worked together in 11 movies and his musical spell has been icing of cake. Soon after watching him in Bala sir’s Nachiyaar, I was totally stunned over his performance. I couldn’t think about anyone than him. He had a very tough time shooting for this film as it involved high-risk challenges. Especially to shoot with a dog demanded for lots of patience and if not for GV Prakash’s cooperation, this would have not been possible.”

GV Prakash Kumar has attempted newfangled style of BGM for this film and his promotional song is already trending over online and social media platforms. Nirav Shah and Saravanan Ramasamy together have created visual magic through their cinematography. Produced by Arunmozhi Manickam, the film’s worldwide release is scheduled on April 12, 2019.

Vigorous and Freshness is what incisively describes Sasikumar and his fame is glorified for the way the family, relationships and friendship are depicted. This indeed makes the audiences from all walks of life bank their expectations on his movies. His next film tentatively titled “Production No.3”, directed by ‘Salim’ fame Nirmal Kumar and produced by P.K. Ram Mohan for Kalpataru Pictures carries similar essence.

Producer P.K. Ram Mohan says, “Sasikumar has scaled an incredible fan base across all arenas. The reason is that his movies have always given beautiful dimension to family values and relationships. Apparently, over his journey as an actor beyond a decade, he has stepped into the ‘Safe bet’ for producers and traders in business circles. We are happy to have him onboard for this film and this film will definitely portray him in the role that audiences have always loved watching him. When it comes to Nirmal Kumar, his storytelling skills are phenomenally best. Surely, this isn’t an overstatement for he has already proved his potentials through his erstwhile movie “Salim”. I could feel the same uniqueness while he narrated me the story of this film.”

The film is launched this morning as a simple ritual ceremony and the first leg of shooting happens in Chennai.

Actress Bhanu Sree became an overnight popular personality beyond the boundaries and language barriers. Thanks to her presence in Telugu Bigg Boss 2, which had the public glares of Tamil territories too. Now the actress is all set to make her debut in K-Town through Jai’s “Breaking News”, a fantasy entertainer.

“I am playing Jai’s love interest who literally falls in love due to his innocence on my first sight, marries him and later get separated due to our ego and stubbornness. Although, I am playing a single role, my character will have lots of layers to it. Initially, I would be seen as a girl of more ebullience and hyper-spirited nature. However, I become more reserved and calm inclined to traditions with girl-to-next door looks after my marriage to protagonist,” says Bhanu Sree.

Curiously hit by the hint she dropped about her character being separated from spouse, we tended to ask the reason. She abruptly says with laughter, “What audiences have got to watch then, if I am going to reveal each and every thing. As far as I can say, Breaking News is a fantasy Action film that revolves around an ordinary man transformed into superhero for the welfare of society. This isn’t merely a film that to get away simply with graphics and visual treat, but has an emotional package and good message to carry back home.”

While giving an inherent experience working with Jai and the team ‘Breaking News’, she says, “Despites his stardom, Jai is so humble and down to earth. He is so helpful and supportive to his co-artistes. Film Director Andrew Pandian is a man of perfect clarity. He has been delivering exactly of what he narrated.” Bhanu Sree has already completed shooting 15 days for the film and will have her next schedule in Chennai.

The film that involves 90mins of top-notch CG works is Supervised by Vfx Supervisor V Dinesh Kumar with 450 CG Technicians world wide produced at a whopping budget by Nagercoil based Thirukadal Udhayam. Johnny Lal is handling cinematography and editing is done by Anthony.

Tigress Thumbaa might have been the uninvited guest to Anirudh’s studio (The promotional video), but now every kid and family is curiously awaiting their journey into its Kingdom. Thumbaa has become the most favorite and looked forward film of this season. The team is now super exhilarated over the completion of the film’s shoot in a short span of time.

While the producers are completely delighted over the project being wrapped up on time, they say, “Its coincidental that both of us producers have shared mutual interest of always admiring and enjoy watching films based on travel and adventure, especially the ones that are revolving around forest backdrops. When filmmaker Harish Ram LH narrated us the story, we enjoyed each and every bit of it, but when we happened to see the rushes, we realized how tough it would have been for the entire team to shoot across those thick forests. There have been few places, which were extremely difficult to shoot and somehow, the team has managed to get things accomplished. We have shot the film across Vagamon, Idukki, Palakad, Chennai & Kumili and we are sure the audience will not just have fun and enjoyable moments in theaters, but also witness the breathtaking visuals of those beautiful landscapes too.”

Thumbaa has instantaneously seen great reception with its curtain raiser video featuring music director Anirudh and tigress Thumbaa. While Anirudh Ravichander has composed music for the song ‘Pudhusaatam’ which has crossed 1 million views on YouTube & the other tracks will be created by the duo Vivek-Mervin & Santhosh Dhayanidhi.

Featuring Darshan, Keerthi Pandian and Dheena in lead roles, tigress Thumbaa who has already become the pal of kids will be seen in a major role too. Naresh Elan (Cinematography), Kalaivanan (Editing), Action 100 (Stunts), Ram Raghav-A R Prabagaran (Dialogues), Vasuki Bhaskar-Pallavi Singh (Costumes).

Surekha Nyapati is producing this film for Regal Reels (OPC) Private Limited in association with Roll Time Studios LLP and KJR Studios Kotapadi J Rajesh has acquired the worldwide release rights.

The most expected track of this season gets released amidst heavy fanfare. The expectations have been greatly seen over the album as it marks the coming together of most celebrated Suriya-Selvaraghavan-Yuvan Shankar Raja trio. The song THANDALKAARAN is crooned by KG Ranjith and is written by Kabilan.

The other tracks and complete album will be launched sooner followed by trailer.

Directed by Selvaraghavan, the film is produced by SR Prakash Babu and SR Prakash for Dream Warrior Pictures. Featuring Suriya, Rakul Preet Singh and Sai Pallavi in lead roles, the film is scheduled for release on May 31, 2019.
