Shooting for Jayam Ravi’s 24th flick Adanga Maru directed by Karthik Thangavel began in December last year and progressed well since then.

The makers have now announced that the movie will be released on 21 December. Ravi plays a cop in the flick. Raashi Khanna plays the female lead.

The trailer of the movie was released recently and the plot seems to revolve around the problems faced by a honest police officer who is caught between his family and duty.

Music for the movie is by Sam CS. The film is bankrolled by Home Movie Makers.

Rowdy Baby, the first single from Maari 2 which was released on Thursday has caught the attention of fans immediately and has gone viral.

It is a peppy love song on the likes of Don Don Don from the first part. With Prabhudevas’s choreography and Sai Pallavi and Dhanush who are excellent dancers, the song is sure to be a visual treat.

The movie is slated to be released during the Christmas holidays on 21 December. The flick has been cleared by the censor board with U/A certificate.

The title of the single from Rajinikanth’s upcoming flick Petta has been revealed on Saturday. The song has been named as Marana Mass with the hashtag Thalaivar Kuththu.

A mass poster of Rajini doing a dance move has also been released. The single will be released on 3 December, followed by second single on 7 December and the entire album will be released on 9 December.

The shooting of this film commenced this morning in Chennai after being launched with a ritual pooja at Sri Lakshmi Sai Baba Temple in Mogappair, Chennai. The film will be completely shot in Chennai for a stretch of 40 days with couple of songs being planned in foreign locales.

The vintage Rajini intro song of the 1990s is back with ‘Marana Mass’, the first single from the superstar’s upcoming film ‘Petta’ which was released on Monday evening.

The song starts with ‘Parkathana Pora Intha Kaaliyoda Attatha’ in Rajini’s voice, and the punch lines are ‘Maranam Massu Maranam’, ‘Toughu Tharanum’, ‘Athukku Avan Than Poranthu Varanum’.

Music composer Anirudh Ravichander and veteran S P Balasubrahmanyam have crooned the peppy number, which has lyrics by Vivek. The song, which is being hailed as ‘thara local’ has become an instant hit. Within a few hours, it got 3 Million views.

“There are certain things might look exquisitely heavenly to our eyes, but reaching such destinations has to involve certain risky challenges, which involves scenarios out of our imaginations. Such was our experience while shooting in Ladakh,” says Harish Kalyan, who had to encounter uncalled-for experiences in Ladakh, which has become the cynosure of Kollywood these days.

The team had to shoot some scenes at the exotic locales of Ladakh, which had its own challenges for the entire team. Harish Kalyan recollects those moments saying, “Once, we had completed filming few shots near the hotel, where we stayed. Suddenly, I could hear some kind of tumult and was shocked to see that an assistant director chocked and couldn’t breathe. We rushed to hospital and were literally appalled till we found that he was back to normalcy. Usually, the oxygen content in air is low at such regions of high altitude. He didn’t wear proper woolen clothing and hadn’t covered his ears as well, which had eventually affected his lungs.”

The handsome actor pulls out yet another such challenging instance, which was to trek over a higher altitude. “This was yet another tough situation, where few scenes involving me and Shilpa Manjunath had to be filmed across the backdrops of Rohtang Pass. Since, it was at the higher altitude, many locales didn’t want to accompany us and even warned us too. However, Ranjit Jeyakodi and cinematographer Kavin had already been there for scouting locations and assured that it has an exquisitely serene picturesque backdrop for the scene. Initially, I was quite ignorant about reaching there as locales had warned me about the risk. Nevertheless, Ranjit encouraged me to embark on the journey, which involved 2 hours of trekking. Finally, I was the first one to reach out there and was spellbound over the unimaginable beauty of the place. The entire team forgot the pains and challenges of a long journey after witnessing its sublime scenario” says Harish Kalyan.

Filmmaker Kannan and his entire team of ‘Boomerang’ have landed upon seventh heaven for a reason. The official confirmation pertaining to the worldwide release of their ambitious film on December 28 has kept them in gleeful mode.

Shooting of the movie is expected to begin from 14 December. It is not clear if the actor will resume acting after the polls as he has already announced about the making of Devar Magan 2.
