The producer T Siva was more than willing to offer me whatever i ask for. The stellar star cast and the rich locations in which we are in renting to shoot are the perfect testimonials to this.

Arun Vijay had always impressed me and Iam sure this film will determine his position much stronger. I am glad to declare that the core team of mine is retained for this film too. This bilingual film which will be shot in Tamil and Telugu will be shot in certain parts of Europe, apart from kolkata and Goa in our country. Undoubtedly, Yogi Babu has become the charmer of humour world, where he has captured the hearts and attention of universal audiences with his witticism bounded performances. With every leading actor and filmmaker earnestly desiring him to be a part of their films for the ornamental embellishments, he is now playing lead role in a full-fledged comedy caper titled ‘DHARMAPRABHU’.

The story is set against the fictional premise of ‘Yamalokam’, where the term of Lord Yama is ending and it’s a moment to elect the ‘Next Yama’. Here begins a huge tug of war between the family heir (Yogi Babu) and ChitraGuptan (Karunakaran), which will involve chain of hilarious events presented in grandeur.

While Yogi Babu has captured the interests of masses unconditionally, Karunakaran has never missed to turn the spotlights upon him for best choice of films and roles, especially his spontaneity in witty lines, body language and mannerisms has pulled in huge fan following base for him.

The film is directed by Muthukumaran, who has already completed working on his directorial debut Kanni Rasi featuring Vemal and Varalaxmi Sarathkumar in lead roles. Witnessing his proficient skills, he has gained this offer even before the release of his maiden debut.

Horror films and its sub-categorized genres have become an integral part of Friday releases. As they run into monstrous figures, the audiences have indeed received them well. But at the same time, they’ve desired to explore something unique and exceptional in the same zone. Filmmaker Dhorai VZ assures that ‘IRUTTU’ will definitely offer them a different experience. “Iruttu owns a newfangled horror premise with realistic concept, which will be debated and discussed by audiences,” says Dhorai VZ.

So how did the origin of ‘IRUTTU’ from script papers to celluloid happen?

Director Dhorai VZ says, “When the project involving my directorial with Sundar C sir in lead role was confirmed, the first thing he asked me was to work on a horror script. To make an open confession, I am so scared to watch a horror film and hadn’t watched till this moment the project was zeroed in. In fact, under such a condition, I had to break myself into relentless viewing of horror flicks in different languages and regions. It was then we just got an idea, if I could attempt something new in the same zone or horror. Thereupon, I happened to come across a concept that had several advocacies for and against such belief in real life. It was far-more scarier than a ghost or Devil and this instantly propelled me to carry this into the scripting process.” Having said this, Dhorai VZ adds that the intention of this film is simple, which is to amuse audiences with chills and thrills along with some discussions to take back home.

While sharing the experience of working with Sundar C and others in the team, Dhorai conveys, “Sundar C sir has been so much supportive throughout the shoot. In fact, when I narrated him the script, he just gave a positive feedback saying the film will definitely work out. He will be seen playing the role of a cop while Sakshi Parvinder as his wife. Dhansika will be seen in a completely different role from her erstwhile movies and her characterization is so much substantial. Yogi Babu and VTV Ganesh sir aren’t simply included for hilarious episodes, but they do have a significant role to perform.”

While major portions of the film have been already completed shot in Ooty, the team is busy now shooting the episodes involving Dhansika in Surat. After this, the entire crew will move down to Ooty for the final schedule which together summed up has just 15% shoot pending.

Actress Jyothika said, “Acting in remake films are always a huge challenge. It’s because, usually hit movies are remade and we have a huge responsibility to perform well. Especially, a film like Tumhari Sulu, where Vidya Balan mam has given a fabulous performance, the responsibility is much heavier. It’s been 12 years gap after working with Radha Mohan in Mozhi, I am once again working with Radha Mohan sir. Nothing has changed and everything including the pressure, responsibility and excitements were as same as in Mozhi. The highlighting trait about the film is the chemistry between husband and wife.” Jyotika continued to add humorous touch to her speech saying, “In around 55-60 films I have done, this is one film that was completely shot in Air Conditioner room.”

Getting on to speak about Lakshmi Manchu, she said, “She has been the life of the movie and Thank God, she came for the final schedule. Because, we felt so much of dullness during the patch up works as she had already left.”

On Vidarth, she said, “I have been comfortable all throughout my career working with Suriya, Ajith and Madhavan. I would say, it’s Vidaarth who has been so much supportive on the sets. I am sure, he will definitely win everyone’s appreciations.”

Actor Vidaarth said, “It has been a long time dream to work with Radha Mohan sir. I have been admirer of his movies and am happy that my long run dream has come true. Working with Jyotika mam has been something that I had never imagined. I happened to play a small role in her Magalir Mattum, where we shot for a day. When I went back home, my wife asked me why I didn’t click a photo with her. My Mom and wife happen to be her great fans and that made them ask so. But now to work with her in a movie is a big dream come
True. Actually, the first day shooting of the film was to involve a lengthy dialogue. Especially to perform it when a giant actor like Jyotika is beside me gave me uttermost nervousness. But she made me comfortable with her support. When it comes to choosing movies, I always love to have a long list of good quality movies at my home library. “Kaatrin Mozhi” will be definitely one of them.”

Actress Lakshmi Manchu said, “Every moment in the film was a joy. I had been a great fan of Jyotika and working with her made me nervous for the initial days. Choreographer Viji said, “Everything in this film has been so much exhilarating from the beginning of the film. When I was told by Radha Mohan sir that I would be choreographing songs for “Kaatrin Mozhi”, I couldn’t control my excitements. Moreover, this happens to be a special one as I had assisted choreography for Jyotika mam in “Senorita” song before years. Now to have me onboard choreographing for mam is a real big bliss. Lakshmi Manchu mam has been so much jovial throughout the shooting and we had a big time. Vidaarth sir actually would request me not to give any steps, but he had to go through a hard way and finally score brownie points in “Dirty Pindari” song.”

Actress Sindhu Shyam said, “I feel so much overjoyed being a part of such a positive team. Actor Manobala said, “The original version didn’t have my role and it was created by Radhamohan for me. Working with Jyotika is not an easy job as she would just outperform you with her expressions. I was really worried when she bid adieu to Filmdom after marriage. But now, I am happy that she is back with a bang amusing us with our performances.”

The trailer of the much anticipated magnum opus of the year 2.0 was released on Saturday. The trailer seems to be the extended version of the teaser which was released earlier this year and the visuals are stunning and are instant attention grabbers in the video.

Sun TV’s move to telecast 96 for Deepavali has received a lot of opposition from the audience who requested the channel not to premier the movie so soon.

The hashtag #Ban96MoviePremierOnSunTv was created and fans said that the movie was still doing well in the theaters and it would be unfair to play the movie now.

Joining the fans was actress Trisha Krishnan who played the female lead in the movie alongside Vijay Sethupathi.

Expressing her disappointment over the move, Trisha tweeted,’
Its our 5th week and we still have an 80% occupancy in all theatres.We as a team feel its unfair to be premiering 96 this early. Its our request to push it to a Pongal viewing pls @SunTV Will be grateful #96thefilm #Ban96MoviePremierOnSunTv.’

The movie’s director Prem Kumar, said, ‘A good run for a film is beneficial to a lot of people in the industry in these times. So, considering that 96 is doing well in almost all centres with more than 75 percent occupancy, it’s tough to understand why Sun TV would rush to premiere it on television. Even in the neighbouring states like Kerala and Karnataka, the film is continuing to do very good business.

A TV premiere will hence be a blow not only to the film, but also to the whole industry in many ways. Though Sun TV reserves the Satellite rights for the film, and the decision to telecast it on TV rests with the organization, we request them to postpone the premiere to the next festival session, probably for Pongal 2019, considering the above reasons. As a first time director who has fought his way to this success, I will be very grateful to them.’

The movie is a remake of Hindi flick Tumhari Sulu which had Vidya Balan playing the lead role. The flick is bankrolled by Dhananjayan BOFTA Mediaworks.

Vidarth plays Jyothikaa’s husband in the movie. A R Rahman’s nephew AH Kaashif is the music director. The trailer of the movie has been released on Wednesday and looks breezy and fun-filled.

Jyothikaa looks in prime form and the trailer looks interesting as well. The actress, who bid adieu to cinema after entering wedlock with Suriya, made a comeback with 36 Vayadhinile and was part of Magalir Mattum and Naachiyar.

The third production venture of actor Vishnu Vishal titled as Silukkuvarpatti Singam began recently. The flick is directed by Chella, associate director of Ezhil who made Velainu Vandhutta Vellaikaaran with Vishnu Vishal.

The movie has Regina Cassandra as the female lead while Yogi Babu is also part of the cast. Sources revealed that Vishnu plays the role of a constable from Silukkuvarpatti village and hence the title was chosen.

Now the makers have announced that the flick will be released on 21 December. The actor’s last movie was Ratsasan, a crime thriller directed by Ramkumar of Mundasupatti fame.

In the movie, Vishnu played a trainee sub-inspector of police who solves murders committed by a psycho killer.

After state-wide protest by the AIADMK cadres, team Sarkar has agreed to remove certain scenes as demanded by the ruling party.

Prominent distributor Tirupur Subramaniam informed about the decision to media outlets. Banners of the movie were torn by the party cadres who asked the removal of a few scenes from the Vijay film.

Coming in support of the movie, Kamal Haasan said it is not new for this government to react in such a way. They have never been able to take criticism in a positive way. Soon this government will be dissolved and good people will rule the State, he added.

The news of removal of the scenes has come a huge shock and had disappointed the fans. Earlier, a bunch of ministers came down heavily on the movie and its makers.

Actor Vishal who has tasted success as an actor and producer will be taking a new avatar as director.

It is said the movie will be about stray dogs. Sources added that the shooting for the flick will begin in January 2019.

It may be noted that Vishal’s recent release Sandakozhi 2 fared well at the box office. Directed by Lingusamy, it was a sequel to Vishal-Lingusamy’s 2005 hit Sandakozhi.

Meanwhile, even as some reports claimed that police were planning to arrest director A R Murugadoss for Sarkar controversy, vishal, who is the president of Tamil Film Producers Council and general secretary of Nadigar Sangam, tweeted: “”Police in Dir Murugadoss s home????? For Wat?? Hoping and really hoping that nothin unforeseen happens. Once again. Censor has cleared the film and the content is watched by public.den why all this hue and cry.”

Shooting for Dhanush’s Maari 2 began in Tenkasi. The shooting of the film, a sequel to Maari, was wrapped up recently.

Now the makers have announced that the movie will be released during the Christmas holidays on 21 December.

The controversies surrounding Vijay starrer Sarkar has finally come to an end as the movie has been re-censored with the deletion of a few scenes.

The name Komalavalli used to refer Varalakshmi in the movie has been changed and the scene where the freebies are burnt by the people has been deleted.

The decision was taken after the AIADMK statewide protested against these scenes and demanded their removal as it portrayed the government and its schemes in a bad way.

Following this the movie is expected to be screen again from this evening. Earlier, superstar Rajinikanth came out in support of Sarkar team and tweeted: “After the Censor Board approved the film and released it, demanding certain scenes to be removed and damaging the film banners are unlawful acts. I strongly condemn this.”

Sivakarthikeyan’s film with director M Rajesh has entered into its final schedule of shoot.

The movie began with the auspicious pooja recently. Nayanthara plays the female lead in the film, her second flick with Sivakarthikeyan after Velaikkaran.

Hiphop Tamizha Aadhi has been roped in as the music director of the flick. The movie is bankrolled by K E Gnanavelaraja of Studio Green.

This will be the ninth movie of the production house and the 13th project of the hero. It may be noted that Siva is also simultaneously working in a project with Ravikumar.

The film which has musical score by Oscar-Grammy winner AR Rahman is said to be a sci-fi story.

The makers of Vijay Sethupathi’s 25th film Seethakathi have announced that the flick will be released on 20 December.

The announcement was made in the third look poster of the movie. The film has been censored with U certificate.

The movie is directed by Balaji Tharaneetharan, this combo had already worked in Naduvula Konjam Pakkatha Kaanom.

The star cast also includes Ramya Nambeesan, Gayathri and Parvathy. Music for the flick is by Govind Menon.

Shooting of Ajith’s Viswasam has been wrapped with a song and action sequence shot in Pune recently.

Following this, Ajith has shaved his moustache and beard. With this, the movie is all set to be released for Pongal 2019.

The film is directed by Siruthai Siva and has music by D Imman. The second look poster the movie was released recently in which Ajith is riding a bike wearing a helmet with dancers running behind in a festival setup.

The movie produced by Sathya Jyothi Films has Nayanthara as the heroine and Thambi Ramaiah in a key role.
