AR Rahman’s sister, another singer confirm sexual charges against Vairamuthu

There seems to be no stopping for the sexual charges against lyricist Vairamuthu. AR Raihana, sister of Oscar-Grammy winner A R Rahman, has said the allegations against the lyricist were an open secret.

“It’s an open secret. I have heard many in the past,” she said in a television interview and added that as soon as Rahman came to know about this incident, he asked ‘Is this news true?’ and she told him about the incidents happened to others in the industry.

A singer called Bhuvana Seshan has also made sexual charges against Vairamuthu. “I have carried the pain in my heart for years and I shudder every time I see his face on television. I met Vairamuthu for a jingle. Vairamuthu penned the lyrics and was also producing the project,” she said, narrating her ‘experience’.

“He was ‘impressed’ by my voice and diction. He took my number and asked me to meet him in his office wuith a demo. I gave him the demo. He started connecting with me on phone,” she said.

One day, he said I not just have a great voice but also an intelligent woman. Discomforting started after he described me in Tamil. I told him am uncomfortable. I simply told him not to call anymore, she further said.

“He called me to accompany him to Malaysia. When I refused, he threatened to spoil my career,” Bhuvana said and added that she subsequently lost three abroad trips and recording opportunities.

Even as busy with post-production works of his magnum opus, superstar Rajinikanth-starrer ‘2.0’, director Shankar has taken time off his tight schedule to watch ‘Pariyerum Perumal’.

In a tweet, he said, “Pariyerum Perumal movie is like literature in cinema.. deep and disturbing… purely thought provoking…”

The ‘Enthiran’ and ‘Mudhalvan’ maker added: “The killer was so terrifying while Jo is a character that’s soothing and softening element used at apt situations.Excellent work by the dir Mari Selvaraj.”

‘Pariyerum Perumal’ is written and directed by Mari Selvaraj. Produced by Pa. Ranjith, the film stars Kathir and Anandhi in the leading roles with Yogi Babu in a supporting role. The film features music composed by Santhosh Narayanan. It is about the caste divide in southern Tamil Nadu.

Vignesh Shivan who directed Suriya in Thaana Serndha Kootam has once again teamed with the actor for NGK. The director has penned the lyrics for a song in the movie which has music by Yuvan Shankar Raja.

The movie is directed by Selvaraghavan. It may be noted that the producer of the flick S R Prabhu said they are waiting for Suriya to come back from Suriya 37 look directed by K V Anand and join the final schedule of shooting of NGK in November.

He also said that the release plan of the movie will also be announced soon. Rakul Preet Singh and Sai Pallavi are the female leads of the flick, tipped to be a political thriller.

Ratsasan which is running to packed houses in many centres is produced by G. Dilli Babu for Axess Film Factory in association with R. Sridhar of Skylark Entertainment and is directed by Ramkumar, which has gained a decorous reception among film critics and general audiences. The intriguing part of the film is that every actor and technician has found their prominence and praises uniformly.

Gaining everyone’s attention through the debut film ‘Janakan’ playing the daughter role of Suresh Gopi, Priya Lal happened to make a decent embarkation into film industry. Aftermath she was found playing pretty noticeable roles in Rom-Com based flicks. She is now making her debut in Tamil cinema through the film ‘Genius’ directed by Suseenthiran. Now she feels privileged to have found an important role in this film. Actress Priya Lal says, “I am playing an important and a much different role in this film. So far, I am not aware about what the film is and Suseenthiran sir just told me a single line of plot, which instantly urged him to be a part of this film.”

Adding more, she says, “I have seen some of his best movies like Vennila Kabadi Kulu, Naan Mahaan Alla, Jeeva and Pandiya Nadu, which have emphasized substantial roles for the heroines. I am playing the role of Jasmine in this film, who happens to be a nurse and everyone will love my performance. I have just listened to Suseenthiran sir as a student obeying the master and performed likely. The first ever scene that I had to shoot for Genius was the film’s climax. It literally some time for me to grasp the characterization and give the perfect stroke. Because, even a small change in expression will ruin the character and I had to be more careful about it. Suseenthiran sir was so much helpful in getting the role done perfectly.”

When asked how well the audiences will feel connected with the film, Priya Lal says, “This will be related by each and every one. There will be a hard situation in the school, where we will be forced to read and parents too will be in such a similar state of mind. Of course, even I had such situations, but not to a greater extent. Even today, I remember some of my close friends, who are very much like the protagonist’s role here, who were so much preoccupied with their studies and its pressures.”

While speaking about her co-star Roshan, she says, “Roshan and myself are newcomers. There is a sense of positivity and honesty in him and that vibration can be found everywhere around him on the sets.”

Priya Lal affirms that there are two geniuses in the film – Suseenthiran and Yuvan Shankar Raja. She feels blessed to have found an opportunity to be a part of this film, which is hitting screens on October 26.

AR Rahman has said that people should be careful in creating a new internet justice system.

Opening up for the first time in #MeToo issue, Rahman tweeted that the social media offers great freedom for victims.

The music maestro who is a common friend of both Chinmayee and Vairamuthu said, “In all my endeavors my team and I are committed to creating an environment where everyone finds a safe creative space to bring their best, evolve and succeed.”

In a strong statement to his fans, superstar Rajinikanth on Tuesday said the changes that were made in the Rajini Makkal Mandram were done only after his approval.

The actor also said the fans should get along with public and work with them and share the party responsibility.
He reiterated that they should not be looking for posting or benefits from the party, just because they are in fans club for years.

He said he wants to begin a change in Tamil Nadu politics and added that it will be of no use if people in the Makkal Mandram behave like those in the other parties.

He warned that no cadre has been asked to spend money for the Mandram and asked the fans to work selflessly for which they will definitely get their reward.

Filmmaker Suseenthiran owns a unique and unparalleled trait of filmmaking. While speaking about the inspiration behind penning the script of ‘Genius’, Suseenthiran says, “It was nearly before 11 years, where I happened to have tea at a stall. It was at that point of time, where I saw as a decent looking youngster, say around 26 years of age. After sipping his tea, he just left the place forgetting to pay the money. The tea stall owner requested him to pay the money and he replied saying that he forgot the wallet. His voice was so feeble that the owner didn’t hear him and suddenly, he yelled out “Tomorrow, he will give it.” I was so much shocked to see such a decent guy with probably a huge figure salary behave this way. What could have turned him this way dropped an idea in me to pen the script of Genius.”

While speaking about the actors in the film, Susi says, “In almost all my films, it has been newcomers in the lead roles. Here, we have Roshan, Priya Lal and few others who have played the main roles, but Aadukalam Narain sir will be seen in a strong role.”

While speaking about his collaboration with Yuvan Shankar Raja after a long time, he says, “Yuvan might be slightly delaying with his work, but the main reason is his commitment to deliver the perfect output. In that way, I am so happy that the songs he has composed for Genius have come out well.”

Tamil Actor Santhanam has begun work on a film that is being directed by debutant Johnson.

The film, which is being produced by Raj Narayanan on behalf of Circle Box Entertainment, has Bollywood actress Tara Alisha Berry, who has acted in films like Mastram, The Perfect Girl and Love Games, as its female lead.

The yet-to-be titled film will also feature actor Yatin Karyekar, who was seen as Krishnaji Bhatt in the Hindi film Bajirao Mastani, in an important role. The film has a big star cast including actor Motta Rajendran and Telugu actor Sai Kumar, who will be seen making a comeback to acting after a short break.

Gopi Jagadeeswaran is the cinematographer for this film, which will have music by Santosh Narayanan. It may be recalled that Santhosh Narayanan’s work in recent films like Superstar Rajinikanth’s Kabali and Kaala, and director Vetrimaran Vada Chennai had come in for immense praise.

Leo John Paul will be the editor of this film, which is being referred to as Production No 1 for the time being. Raja will be the Art director of this film.

Director Johnson, who happens to be the winner of Season Four of Naalaya Iyakkunar, has penned the story, screenplay, and dialogues for the film. He is making his debut as a director in the Tamil film industry through this film, the title and first look of which are expected to be released soon.

Amala Paul, extending support to Leena Manimekalai who had recently made sexual allegations against Susi Ganesan, said the director misbehaved with her too.

In a statement, she said, “I support Leena Manimekalai allegations and can imagine this episode happening with her, from a man who has a twisted set of moral values and utterly low respect for women.

She being an aspiring director could have made her an easy target for such an incidence to take place. Me too despite being the leading actress for Thirutupayale2 was subjected to double meaning talks, misrepresented offers and unchivalrous bodily contacts.

This pretty much made my experience of shooting TP2, a mentally fatiguing one. I can totally understand what she could have been subjected through. I applaud her for the courage she showed by narrating her ordeal on a public platform.

Meanwhile, Susi Ganesan’s wife Manjari said Leena Manimekalai is a #MeToo fraud and people should think before supporting her.

Karthi, who recently completed the shooting of Dev, started dubbing of the film. The movie is directed by debutant Rajat Ravishankar and is bankrolled by Prince Pictures who produced Suriya’s Singam 2 and Trisha’s Mohini.

Harris Jayaraj is the music director of this flick. Rakul Preet Singh has paired up with Karthi for the second time after Dheeran Adhigaram Ondru.

The makers have announced that the first look poster of the movie will be released today. The movie is said to be action based and the star cast also includes Prakash Raj, Ramya Krishnan and Amrutha among others.

The first look poster of Viswasam movie, with Ajith in two getups, one in the salt and pepper look, and another in a full black hair was released recently.

Now the makers have announced that the second look poster of the movie is being released today. Sources have also confirmed that the movie will be released during Pongal 2019 as scheduled.

Directed by Siruthai Siva the movie produced by Sathya Jyothi Films is the fourth film together for the actor and the director.

The video gave a feel of the stylish thriller that has been shot in India and Abu Dhabi. A special place was reserved for action sequences in the film. Hollywood action director Kenny Bates composed action episode that was shot in Abu Dhabi. Around 27 cars and five trucks were crashed to shoot the action episode to give real experience to audience.

Superstar Rajinikanth’s 2.0 Tamil teaser was released recently and as expected the visuals were on a grand scale.

The makers have given the audience an idea of what to expect from the movie. The visual effects look stunning and Rahman’s BGM is a major takeaway from the teaser.

Sources now say that the trailer of the movie will be released on 3 November, however it has not been officially confirmed yet.

It may be noted that the flick is slated to be released on 29 November. Directed by Shankar, Akshay Kumar plays the antagonist in the movie produced by Lyca.

The second look poster of Ajith Kumar’s Viswasam was released today and has gone viral.

Ajith wearing a helmet is seen stylishly riding a Royal Enfield bike with both his hands in the hair. The setup seems to be in a festival and sequence from a song.

The poster has also confirmed that the movie will be released on Pongal. The film is directed by Siruthai Siva and has music by D Imman.
